Overview

Bento Slides bundles its editor, presenter, and deck in an HTML file you can open, edit, share, and present in a browser. It supports morph transitions, live charts, video, and audio.

About

Bento Slides is a presentation maker built around one `.bento.html` file. Each deck carries its own editor and presenter, with the slide content stored as readable JSON. It supports morph transitions, live charts, video, and audio, and opens in a browser without an account. Bento can use AI tools to rebuild a PowerPoint deck as a Bento presentation, but the result is a recreation rather than a lossless PowerPoint file. Slides are the first Bento app; the planned notes and sheets apps are not available yet. Bento is open source under the MIT license and works locally, with optional live collaboration.

Good for

  • — Creating and sharing self-contained slide decks
  • — Presentations with custom transitions, live charts, video, and audio
  • — Editing decks locally without an account or cloud workspace

Limitations

  • — Bento currently focuses on slide decks rather than a full office suite
  • — PowerPoint decks are rebuilt as Bento files rather than edited as PowerPoint files
  • — The planned notes and sheets apps are not available yet
