Overview

FerrumPix combines photo organization, RAW development, and layered image editing on Linux and Windows, with experimental macOS and ARM64 builds. It can also connect to Immich or Nextcloud.

About

FerrumPix handles the work around a photo as well as the edit itself. You can browse local folders, rate and search images, compare shots, develop camera RAW files, and make changes with layers, masks, adjustments, and retouching tools. It also opens Photoshop files with their layers. The main workflow runs on your computer. You can optionally connect an Immich or Nextcloud library, and some AI tools use models downloaded separately. Linux and Windows are the main supported desktop platforms. The project calls its macOS and ARM64 builds experimental, so try those builds with your own files before relying on them.

Good for

  • — Managing a local photo collection and editing images in the same app.
  • — Developing camera RAW files and making layered edits.
  • — Browsing an Immich or Nextcloud library from a desktop editor.

Limitations

  • — The macOS and ARM64 builds are experimental.
  • — Some AI features need separate model downloads.
  • — Video and some image formats depend on additional system libraries.
