Overview

Doory is an open source design editor for posters, social graphics, slides, and other everyday layouts. It works without an account and can be self-hosted for sharing and collaboration.

About

Doory opens in the browser with templates or a blank canvas. You can arrange text, shapes, photos, and layers, make designs with several pages, add motion and sound, and export images, PDFs, video, or GIFs. Guest projects are saved in the browser on the device you use. An account moves designs to a server for sharing, brand kits, comments, and live editing with others. You can run the whole app on your own server with Docker Compose. Its starter template library is small, so Doory makes more sense if you value a flexible editor and control over hosting than a huge ready-made catalog.

Good for

  • — Making social posts, posters, invitations, and slides from a template or a blank page.
  • — Designing in a browser without creating an account.
  • — Running a shared design editor on your own server.

Limitations

  • — Guest designs stay in the browser on that device until you create an account.
  • — Sharing, brand kits, and server storage require an account.
  • — The starter template library is much smaller than Canva's.
  • — Self-hosted copies must display the credit required by the license.
